Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "user") and hirez ("we", "us", or "our"), operated from Bengaluru, India. These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the rules made thereunder, and do not require any physical or digital signature.

By accessing or using https://hirezai.com or any service offered under it (the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and competent to enter into a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Description of Service

hirez provides tools to create, edit, optimize, and export resumes using AI-based processing. Features may include account-based resume storage, job description parsing, AI-generated content suggestions, and document export in PDF or DOCX formats.

We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice.

3. User Accounts

  • You may register using email/password or sign in using Google OAuth. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for all activity carried out under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate and current information and to update it when it changes.
  • You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account at support@hirezai.com.

4. User Content and Ownership

  • You retain full ownership of all resumes, files, text, and any other content you submit to the Service ("User Content").
  • By using the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit, and display your User Content solely to operate, provide, and improve the Service for you.
  • You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the User Content you submit and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.
  • We do not sell your User Content or personal data.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

  • The Service uses third-party AI models (currently routed through OpenRouter) to generate suggestions, rewrites, and tailored content.
  • AI-generated output may be inaccurate, biased, incomplete, or unsuitable for your context. It does not constitute professional career, legal, financial, or recruitment advice.
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any AI-generated content before relying on, sharing, or submitting it to any third party (including employers).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, or harmful purpose, or in violation of Indian law (including the IT Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021).
  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, infringing, deceptive, contains malware, or impersonates another person.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or otherwise abuse the Service or its underlying systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of the Service.
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or to train machine-learning models without our written consent.

We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, and report violations to the appropriate authorities.

7. Fees and Payments

If and when paid plans are introduced, applicable fees, taxes (including GST where applicable), billing cycles, refund terms, and renewal policies will be disclosed at the point of purchase. Continued use of a paid feature after such disclosure constitutes acceptance of those terms.

8. Data Storage and Deletion

  • Your User Content and account data are stored securely in our systems and with our cloud providers, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Data is retained until you delete it or your account is closed, except where retention is required by law.
  • You may delete individual items or your entire account at any time from the in-app account settings or by writing to support@hirezai.com.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including:

  • Google — for OAuth authentication.
  • OpenRouter and the underlying AI model providers — for AI processing of your User Content.
  • Cloud, hosting, storage, email, and analytics providers — for infrastructure and operations.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that your data may be processed by these providers in accordance with our Privacy Policy and their respective terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Service — including the website, code, design, branding, templates, and "hirez" name and logo — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected under Indian and international intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.
  • We are not responsible for job outcomes, interview success, hiring decisions, or any career consequences resulting from use of the Service.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim or (b) ₹1,000.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, opportunity, data, or goodwill.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless hirez and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to (i) your use of the Service, (ii) your User Content, (iii) your breach of these Terms, or (iv) your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, applicable law, or pose a risk to other users or the Service.
  • On termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms will end. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will continue to apply.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice. The updated Terms will be effective when posted on this page. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Subject to mandatory consumer-protection rights, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
